Leather belt with handmade german silver buckle “World tree”.
World tree is a giant tree in Norse mythology that holds all nine worlds. The archetype of the sacred tree is known in many cultures under different names: "tree of life", "sacred tree", " Yggdrasill ".
It alludes to the interconnection of all life on our planet and serves as a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense.
The first images of tree of life can be found even in Tripoli ceramics. It seems there is no type of folk art, which would not have met this character: pysanky, vyshyvanky, weaving and now metal working.
Buckles cast in german silver (an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc). After casting, each buckle processed manually. After processing the buckle, cover by patina and polishing one more time.
The belt is made of genuine calf leather.
