Belt buckle “Petrykivka”
Belt’s buckle designed as classic Ukrainian Petrykivka painting, which dates back to the times of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, who used it extensively in painting, wall decorations and household items. A distinctive feature of modern plant Petrykivka painting is, above all, the floral motif. The name of this folk art comes from the old Cossack village - Petrykivka (now - Petrykiv district of Dnipropetrovsk region).
Today Petrykiv pattern is widely used in the book graphics, art industry, but from now in metal working.
Buckles cast in brass. After casting, each buckle processed manually. After processing the buckle, cover by patina and polishing one more time. Buckle comes complete with a 38 mm brass frame for later attachment to the belt.
